I particularly like the hole saw claim and the 490 "muzzle energy" (at 96 gr) which appears to have been taken off their website. g2rip.com
The machining of boolits will definitely start opening up new ideas in design, but I'll still have to see this one to believe the claims.

I mostly meant that old hollow point designs are better than all these new budding bullet designs. While I like innovation and thinking out the box, I hate the marketing hype that comes along with these things.
Federal HST is one bad mother for sure.

I'm still a fan of the .357B federal load out of a 4" barrel.
The live things I've shot with it were instantly and explosively dispatched.

I wish I could do all of that. Sadly, I'm just going to hand feed them a couple hundred times to see if anything interesting happens.

Definitely is an intriguing design. Look forward to hearing your results.

I got the ammo in today.
I went and shot 150 FMJs through it first so that it would be a little dirty. I'd rather it hang up now than work perfectly while the pistol is clean then hang up later down the road because it's dirty.
I loaded my 7 round mag with the RIP ammo and i hand cycled them through the pistol. I repeated this process with the same 7 rounds 15 times. not a single hiccup.
After that went smoothly, I loaded 3 rounds, the last one i purposely seated the round in the mag awkward, so that the front of the round was facing downward instead of aiming up a little bit. I did this hoping to see if it would fail to load when the round is not seated perfectly. I had the slide locked back, popped the mag in, and hit the slide release. It closed like normal with the round in the chamber.
I checked all 7 of the rounds that i had used afterwards. There are no markings or identions left after each one being chambered 15 times.
The feed ramp was pretty dirty starting off, I figured i would see a little scoring or markings left from the points of the rounds. This didn't happen.
A couple of pics of the ramp, it was hard to get a clear picture...
One of the P238
All in all, I would say they operated perfectly. Coming in right at $3/round I would love to go shoot a couple hundred to make sure they perform right, but that's not going to happen, not on my dime at least.
I'll wind up shooting a few of these at some watermelons or somethign simliar soon.
