It's big but panorama helps make it look a little bigger than actually is

That's about 100 times to big.

According to NASCAR.

looks good man

will there be a creek feeding it or just rain?

do you have a way to maintain water level if we get a foot of rain?

Get professional consultation before filling. Pond design can effect aeration, algea growth and carrying capacity.

Look up the beaver deceiver. Clemson university has a good design for one. It will save you a ton of headaches, down the road if you go ahead an incorporate one I to the design of your pond.

I would slope your banks and dig a two foot step down all along the shore line for safety.

Get a few telephone poles to drive down for a pier.

After about 10 inches down pure clay. There's a pit dug on top of hill on land next to me couple hundred yards from mine that hold water year round with no run off to it. All work is being done free because of huge house pad and shop being built up hugh down the road by same man thats doing mine. Guy digging has done many in the area and all have turned out good

Pondboss.com

By far the best site on the net regarding ponds.

There was a thread about two weeks ago with several suggestions.
Gravel beds
Stacks of pallets
Concrete culverts
Christmas trees
PVC trees

Make sure you have plenty of room for bedding/spawning.

Getting some pallets from plants and have couple buddies trying to find a couple culverts. Going to cement some switch cane in buckets when it fills up. Also going to dig about a one foot deep ditch across a piece of it. Read in another forum that bugger fish will congregate in ditch and think they are hidden

Wondering if gradually declining the slope off of your middle area (creating a "point" found in lakes) in both directions would cause the bass to hang and give you a couple casting lanes to pick up bigger fish.

Your ditch may accomplish the same thing.

If those sides are as sandy as they look, you may want have a layer of clay spread along the side to keep water from migrating horizontally and the sides sloughing in.

If the sides have sufficient clay, then you're golden!
