A guy over my way is selling something similar to your boat but with twin motors. My question is, why does someone need twins on such a shallow hulled boat?

It's so you can take it further offshore for snapper and cobia and such. You dont want to be caught out there with one motor and that one motor go out on you. Blackjacks are one of the heaviest bay boats out there. I havent put it through rough seas yet but supposedly it handles them great. Theres a 24ft chanpion out of cocodrie with twin 250s on it. It looks badass.

Sorry Face. Sure I am good with that. Just can't believe you would make me wait all the way til summer to go out in your boat

Are you going out this weekend? I am planning on going to Hopedale saturday and possibly back on sunday if the fishing is really good. If so we could meet up out there and share some spots. Shoot me an email so we can talk easier: beck316@mail.com

I'll post my report later with pics (only took a couple) from today. If you're talking about going to Hopedale, the water should be up by then, but it looked like someone pulled the plug on the Gulf of Mexico today. Finally about the time we were leaving, the tide started coming in. Should come on in with the weather this week. I've absolutely never seen it that low, and I spend a bunch of time in Hopedale/Delacroix. We finally got a couple of trout, three puppy drum, and one tiny flounder. Couldn't buy a redfish, but the guy I went with failed to inform me he didn't have a trolling motor...so that kinda screwed up my typical routine. I'm probably going again either Thursday or Friday or both. I'll let you know what the water looks like. Today we made the mistake of fishing the Delacroix side, but what water was there was straight up river water.

The trout were caught on spinner baits and...wait for it...dead shrimp under a cork.

Fishhead, where exactly did you go? By friday things should really be heating up by then. Think today the water is still just to cold for trout in most places. But they are catching them in certain places but it is pretty spotty. If you go to Hopedale Friday please send me a report. Was going over there Saturday. Shoot me an email if you don't mind: beck316@mail.com

We actually launched at Sweetwater. First time, nice people...good service. The guy I went with has a jet ski boat, a commercial flat with a 135 hp jet ski motor. Funniest part of the day...I'm chatting with Captain Jack Payne while paying, and he looks out at the boat and screams "Where the phucks your motor"!!! He literally thought it had fallen off on the trip down. I told him we were planning on paddling to Oak River...that we do it all the time. About the time, the jet ski motor fires up and he's like "WTF??". I told him what it was, and he had to come see for himself.

We went to 4 horse first, absolutely mud. We left and jumped across Terre Aux Boeufs to Lake Amadee, mud and grass. We left and went to some ponds on the north side of Lake Coquille, no water. Then we went back to 4 horse where the tide had started coming in. That's when we caught the few fish we caught. There was another boat catching in the spot I wanted to be, but they never moved.

I'll let you know about Friday, but I'm probably going to Reggio in my canoe. The water should definitely be back up by then and warmer in the ponds with the weather this week. Captain Jack said we really should have gone to Oak River or Skippy Lake.
