Government is trying to shut down fishing/access to Biscayne Bay Whether you fish or not. Live in Florida or not......this type of legislation in general threatens your basic rights. Please take a moment to send a letter, it's very easy & please tell all your friends as well. We really need your help!!

Thanks! What is the reason they are giving to do this? I keep saying it's not the elected officials that we need to worry about, it's these faceless/nameless bureaucrats. These are the bastards ruining our everyday lives.

Here's an article which attempts to explain.......It all begins with enforcement & education both of which are sorely lacking!!!

LINK

Closing the area is a dead end solution & doesn't fix anything.......If they can do it here.....just watch where else they are going to try.....There's a ton of liberal idiots out there who don't want people to fish/hunt etc.

PEW Foundation, PETA ad nauseum.....They are organized, work well together & are well funded. If the recreational & commercial fishing interests would work together rather than constantly fighting....this would be a huge positive step in the right direction...IMHO

Well, that's incorrect, lots of research shows increases in biomass and numbers in no-fishing areas. The closed area would likely become a source population where fishes migrate to other areas where fishing is allowed. Fishing is not being closed in the entire park.

But like you said, enforcement and education are sorely needed.

Proper enforcement & education during the last 15-20 years would make this closure unneeded....you do realize that once Big Gubment closes an area it won't be re-opened & the science they use is skewed anyway. It's setting a precedent that can be used in other places & for other reasons. It's BS
