Free boat is free. Personally, I don't value my time working on my boat in monetary terms. It is all pleasure. Good luck.

I feel the same way. Unfortunately I don't have much time to mess with it right now with school but my potential plan is to gut the inside and clean it all out then get an outboard shop to get the steering hooked up and the motor up and running and finally, when I get out of school I will have time to do the interior stuff. would make for a good summer project.

the motor appears to be in good shape, looks like it wasn't used much .... not even a nick on the prop....

Go behind the boat.
Put your foot on the fins by they prop and push up and down on it. If the transome moves more than a 1/4" or so you may need to do some work on the transom by replacing the plywood backing "if indeed it has that......most don't.

If the steering is rusted you may need new steering cables. That's a few hundred bucks.

I would NOT recarpet it. Get a wire
wheel grinder, clean up the aluminum and rhino line it.

Motor will need carbs pulled and cleaned, new plugs, probably new plug wires, stator, water pump.

Tinboat.net is a good site to get sime ideas and help.

You looking at an easy $2,000 restore job.

shite just clean it! Looks to be in good shape otherwise. Bring to a shop to get steering mad motor running and your good to go. Then just tinker w it as you have time.

just clean it all up nicely and let things fall into place from there...it may take several years to get it into the shape that you want it, or you may decide that you just don't have an interest in it...

fwiw, expect the bill to get the motor running to knock your dick off, as parts and labor are insane for boats...
