I'll give you $350 for it right now

Not many things in the hunting equipment world are as terrible as a nice trim compact rifle with a telescope on top.
Leupold 2.5-8x36 is the perfect general purpose hunting riflescope. 2-7x32 is the perfect ultra compact rifle scope. 4.5-14x50 is suitable for near space astronomy work, 6.5 creedmoors, and signaling passing aircraft.
It's surprising how often your thought process aligns very closely w/ mine.
I converted to deer hunting exclusively w/ handguns instead of rifles about 25 years ago, but when I used a rifle it was a Winchester Model 70 in 270 Winchester w/ a Leopold 2-7X compact scope. I think either of the Leupolds you mentioned would suite the OP's needs while keeping w/ the compact dimensions of the Model 7.
As far as mounting it, I always use a Weaver one piece base (all my Remington XP-100's use the same base as the Model 7 and it works fine) w/ Burris Signature Z-Rings (the ones w/ the plastic inserts).

I think I’m sorry for one of you. Not sure which though right now.

After reading all these responses. I had all intentions to purchase the 2x7x33 freedom and keep the mount and rings. I now can’t even find one of those. I’m up for whatever at this point I need a small diameter, light weight scope that is available.

It's Optics Planet so shop at your own risk.
I've been happy w/ the one scope I bought from Scheel's.

I’ve got an extra 2x7 Leupold at the house.
