quote:My dad gave me his calcutta 15 years ago. At the time it was 5 years old. A 20 year old real that has never been repaired and still outperforms most today. You pay for quality that will last for a long arse time. Since I already owned a Calcutta, I wasn't planning on spending as much on my secondary reel. $100 is pretty cheap for bait casters

smartest thing bill dance ever said was, "don't buy cheap fishing equipment, it will come back and bite you when you got the big bite"

I was referring to the $200 reels you linked.
I think my most expensive reel is $80.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

bought the ag revo stx (to try) and a couple new chronarchs recently (both same price), i like the chronarch much more than the revo, most of my stuff is paired with duckett rods which i use for bass and inshore, one of the lightest rods next to custom made stuff

If you fish salt enough it's more than worth it.

Citica has shielded bearing for $130
abu garcia revo s is a nice buy for $130
if you want to go to 200 then the chronarch is the way to go, it has anti rust bearings which will hold up great
they came out with chronarch ci4 which is $269 and it won reel of the year this year
