I wouldn't let my son shoot a deer until he was old enough to handle a mans rifle. He thanks me often because he knows he can go through life truthfully saying he has never had to shoot a 243.
He will turn 4 this summer and is begging to leave the 30/06 and move up to my 300 win mag.

I might just have to egg you on.

I was on a roll with the threads yesterday. It felt great. I have a couple more threads in mind for when I have another slow day

And my gf saw my rascal flatts thread and was upset because she likes them. I had to explain what trolling was

Such a lucky son to have never been subjected to the loss of deer due to shooting a shitty arse deer caliber.

Looks like either a snake or spider bite. It's rotted out in almost a perfect circle, probably cause he's been chewing/licking it. Could be a bullet, but I really doubt it. He looks to be about 2 and a half.

Certainly looks like a .243 wound. Typical shot placement for a .243 user

it could have been a glancing shot or some kind of cut. He stands a good chance of makeing it if there are no breaks.
I had one on my cam that had a compound fracture on the same leg earlyer this year. He lasted 2-3 weeks before he was gone. probably a dog caught him.
