Hey bap.... is that small enough for front pocket carry cargo short?
I agree with Broke. It's a bit big. It will disappear IWB but will be a bit bulky in a pocket.
If you want a small potential-pocket 9, look at the Kahr CM9. It is the second smallest single stack 9mm that I know of (Diamondback DB9 is smallest - don't buy it though
If you want an extremely easy gun to pocket carry I'd suggest the Kahr CW380. It is a 380 but you will have it with you all the time. It will fit in virtually any pocket. My dad carries his 24/7.

sounds like you need to pull and clean firing pin and check for proper function

Shootability and effectiveness trump the size differential.
I've recently had two female students with .380 Bodyguards who came in (at different times) for a lesson. Neither lady knew the other -- in both cases their husbands had selected and purchased the Bodyguards for the wives.
In both cases they shot a G19 for the bulk of the lesson (because I can start them on .22 LR and then move them up to 9mm), and then shot my 9mm Shield, and then shot their Bodyguard.
Both ladies shot about 75 rounds through the G19 and each shot one mag through the Shield. Both ladies were shooting 2"-3" groups (at 12-15 feet) with the G19 and with the Shield.
Each of them then proceeded to shoot 12"-18" groups with the Bodyguard -- and both complained about the Bodyguard's recoil. After 5-6 shots, neither wanted to shoot the Bodyguard any more.
Both women were clearly well-educated, and struck me as very genteel southern ladies. But both were ready to shove the Bodyguards up their husbands' posterior orifices. (One of them phrased it exactly like that, except she used a three letter word for the insertion point.)

Kahr CW380
Nice. That's the one then...
Found some nice .380 ammo delivering quite a punch from buffalo bore I think would make it quite effective.

That was the same grouping I was seeing at 8 yards. It was the worst I have ever shot any gun in my entire life
I switched directly to the shield after shooting the bodyguard and was getting 1-2" groups

You're giving up a lot of terminal performance with a hard cast .380 (little to no expansion) compared to a good 9mm hp round (like HST) that consistently expands to .80+ caliber.
The CM9 is 0.5" longer (better sight radius), 0.1" taller and .15" thicker than the CW380. Both hold the same number of rounds. The CM9 weighs 3-4 ounces more (which helps make it more controllable).
There's a world of difference between the effectiveness (penetration & expansion) of the .380 and the 9mm (which to me more than makes up for the minor size difference).
But with all that said, I'd still get a 9mm Shield. The Shield's reset trigger makes it an easy choice over the Kahr.
Disclosure: I own 5 Kahrs and one Shield. The Shield is my BUG (Kahr PM9 used to be). The Shield, inside a Desantis holster, fits in the front pocket of every pair of clacks that I own.

That's +P ammo fyi.

Yes on the + p. I wouldn't fire it every day. That gun should be good for a few rounds when needed.
If I can carry the shield in my cargo that's the way I would go. I have and iwb but something to throw in my pocket during the summer would be nice

This is the role I can see a 380 taking. I wouldn't make it my #1 concealment choice but if I'm casually out in athletic shorts I'd rather just pop something in my pocket.
