I see a couple problems here. And while I am genuinely trying to help, gaining a little knowledge can't hurt. First off...the Glock does not have clips. It has magazines and secondly your magazines fit fine. Also a Glock 17 is a full size pistol. The subcompact Glock 9mm is the 26. Glock numbers their pistols according go the ordered number of it's patents. But the Glock 17 is larger than your 19 and there is nothing small about it.
Now as for the jams, what kind are they? Failure to feed (ftf), failure to eject (fte), stove pipe, double feed? 90%+ of all stoppages are magazine related. All of my mags have a number on them so that I can keep track if I have any problems. Put a piece of masking tape on the bottom of your mags and pay attention to which one(s) are jamming. If it is a failure to extract you cab cheaply purchase a new extractor.
Lastly if you were shooting reloads try some factory ammo. Maybe the load in the reloads wasn't hit enough. If all thus fails contact Glock or find a smith.

failure to eject resulting in failure to feed as a result.

You can disassemble a mag?
Of course.

I'm not sure what he could have put together wrong. He said he bought the gun at Cabelas, shot it 5 times then put it up.A deal came along for a .40 and he wanted that so he sold his 9mm.
I've heard this before, at any rate. Since you don't seem very familiar with the platform, watch some YouTube videos and see if you can see any thing diff with yours. At least you can narrow it down for the armorer.

I'm in mourning this morning. Deer season ended in TN yesterday. It makes me a bit melancholy every year.

It's shockingly easy - however, you can put an eye out with the spring, both assembling and disassembling - so tread lightly.

Although not overly complex, there are errors that could be made, and weapons are shockingly easy to damage if you don't know what you're doing.

And if he just wanted to get rid of it, he would no reason to lie, right?

It seems like you have eliminated the obvious. Clean it again, work the action to make sure it feels slick. Put some rounds downrange. If problem is still there, take it in. You will feel better if a pro checks it out and either repairs or gives it the all clear.

Did anyone else shoot it and have the issues you were having?
Posted on 1/13/14 at 8:11 am to meauxjeaux2
I've heard glocks are real easy to put to much oil that can cause jamming. Not sure how factual that is. I would probably just bring to a gun dealer

Thats interesting....I've never once had a jam in my 19 since I bought it two years ago

I was thinking the same thing TTT. I've fired probably close to 1000 rounds and never had a jam.

Id like someone else shoot it. I know you said you werent limp wristing, but it sounds like they could be the problem. There was some issues with a later run of gen 3 Glock 19's involving extractor problems, but it seems like after about 250 rds or so it disappeared

When you say jam, do you mean FTE or FTF? I heard about this in the Gen 4's, but not the Gen 3's.

my nephew had similar probs with his Glock. Turned out he had bought some shitty ammo, army surplus or some such. Once good rounds acquired, no problems.

quote:I'll try that. It would be crazy if this was the issue and would pretty much make this gun useless to me when I focused on not limp wristing it because My cousin who was there told me that it messes with the recoil mechanism therefore causing extraction issues.
