The vet just called and said they can’t operate because the preanesthetic bloodwork showed that he has elevated liver enzymes.. the lady said that it should be between 10-120something but it’s 841 right now.. does anyone have any idea what could’ve going on? Probably won’t hear anything from them until Monday or Tuesday

My boxer is 7, and was just gonna have a small growth removed off of his leg.. he hasn’t shown any signs of being sick, or uncomfortable and he’s eating well so this kind of blindsided me

Had to put my boxer down at 6.5 for similar thing. Fine one day, week later his liver is gone and we're having to put him down. I hope they can get yours right. It's just something with the breed.

Has he been on any steroids lately?

If so, that would raise liver enzymes.

My 9 year old boxer is having surgery today on his gums. They were growing over his teeth.

Do you remember specifically which enzyme. The range you gave closest matches ALP but there are several enzymes on a panel that are "liver" enzymes.

Had the same thing with mine, I don’t remember her # tho
They gave me a month of Denamarin, it’s an over the counter liver supplement
Think it was 80 or 90.00
Next 2 months I got it from Amazon for about 65ish

After 3 months they tested her again & it was fine

Yea, I’m gonna have to get off the internet til tomorrow.. I’ve read that it could be anything from ‘nothing’, all the way to the possibility of cancer

Might cook ol boy a steak tonight just for the hell of it.. god this shite sucks

Mine just turned 4 and y’all are depressing me. One of the absolutely best all around breed of dog but it sucks that the breed is prone to so many problems. Got to take the good with the bad I guess.

Hope it’s nothing serious with yours though. to good news!

I have nothing to add, if you want you can look up the thread on my boxer.

She is six and it's looking like we will have to put her down this weekend or early next week.

Hopefully, yours is nothing serious.

I have a boxer, too. She is almost 7 and has had two growths removed. She is a happy dog and loves our children, but I don't think she has barked since she was a puppy. Is that common, or just her temperament?

My Boxer will only bark if the Dachshund tells her too. Other than that she is silent. I wish she would bark to come inside instead of scratching up the door.

Could be Cushing's syndrome. Had to give a pill, every day, to my beagle. He was probably 7 when diagnosed, made it to 12.
