I'm going to remove the pic now since most of you have seen it already. No need in having it hang around on the web-o-sphere forever you know.

I had a little rat terroir that tore a good chunk out of my paw paws hand one time. He kinda deserved it though because he was aggravating it all day by messing with me. Anyway, hope your little girl is ok. Hope she comes around and does not hate dogs forever though

Dude--get momma's homeowner's policy info and lawyer up. You have a case based on what you reported but consult an atty.

Really?
What happened is horrible and i hope for a speedy recovery. The dog should obviuosly be "put down" after the 10 day waiting period.

I would also feel just like you do, meauxjeaux2. And I would be livid. Up here, a dog gets one "free" bite. After that first bite, the dog is considered vicious and the owners have more responsibility assigned to them for having a vicious dog. Now...legalisms aside, I'd kill the dog myself at first opportunity by any means I deemed necessary or possible. If the owners didn't voluntarily do what was morally right about this then I'd make sure the judge forced them to.

Oh man, I hope your little girl is doing OK. As a father of a loving little girls I know what you are feeling. I would be killing myself, but that would be pointless. Its not your fault.

I'm really conflicted right now. After it happened and I got on the scene the owner of the dog came over while I'm attending to my daughter and declared loudly that "it isn't her dogs fault,it was on a chain."

Again, congrats on keeping your cool. If she had said that about my child and her dog I would have left her property to take my baby girl to the hospital. Come home with a belly full of anger and a loaded 12ga and put a hole through that dog.

frick her. That dog is at fault and needs to be put down

you would have had to break into the dog pound to do it.
Dogs gone for 10 days observation to make sure it's not rabid.

It's the owners responsibility. If she is going to let kids play on her property, she has to make sure they are safe.

why's that? i could understand more if it was chained up in the backyard, however, not in the front yard.

The chain is probably MJ's best friend. Shows that momma knew the dog was vicious, IMO.

Its always the owners fault. Since I was ten I have had five dogs and not one of them has ever bitten someone. I have a pitbull terrier now that I couldnt get to bite you to save my life. Im sorry to hear about your little girl. You are a better man than me because I probably would have shot the damn thing on the spot.
