That looks like a flash hider on that SBR, not a brake. A brake would have chambers.

No, leave it on and double up on ear protection. Use those foam plugs under muffs.

Its not even as loud as most hunting rifles.

Yeah I know. I don't have a pic of mine and just pulled that one off the Internet. It's LAF with the SOCOM brake. I have a SOCOM SB556 in jail at Bowie's waiting to go on it.

Shoot an unsuppressed SBR with a muzzle brake... You'll think your AR is quiet as shite.

Was with a friend shooting a 9" SBR 5.45 Krink the other day. First I asked him if any of his teeth had cracked or shattered. Then I went into the car to check my teeth in the mirror to make sure it didn't crack any of mine even though I was 15 feet behind him.

I use a low concussion muzzle brake on my AR pistol. It would work well to direct some of the sound and concussion away.

You shoot your AR and I will shoot my .338 win mag that has a muzzle brake and you can see how quiet your gun actually is. To put it in visual terms AR=boom .338=BOOM!!!!

Go shoot your AR with some friends that have ARs for comparisons. Test them both. It may not be that loud once you compare to other weapons.

Man up and buy a suppressor.

That's your only option.
