Cyclists now have more places to ride on Missouri’s conservation lands. Bicycles and some electric bicycles (e-bikes) are now allowed on roads open to public vehicles, multiuse bike trails, and most service roads.

A few CAs straight up state they can't be used and a few don't allow them during firearm deer seasons.

I’ll be making the trip up to Missouri to attempt to bow hunt on some public land in mid November

I’ve been going for quite a few years. I’ve been anywhere from the last week of October, till about the 18th of November. I’d say my favorite time to be in the woods is the week before rifle opens. I feel like the rut’s really kicked off, but the pressure from gun hunters hasn’t hit yet.
If you’re going to a bow only CA during rifle season, it’ll probably be pretty legit. Most people will be gun hunting somewhere else.

any suggestions would be welcomed

Learn how thermals work in those hills, if you’re not familiar with it already. Also, don’t be afraid to call. I’ve called in some really nice bucks up there.

Good luck! I’ll be up there mid November also, but I’ll have my rifle

That’s all I’ve been researching. Hopefully the CA’s are pretty light with it being gun season while I’m up there.

I’m not expecting anything crazy big, I’d just like to actually see if these deer are as dumb as they look on TV ??.

They sure don’t seem to behave the same way the deer do in Louisiana.

Yea on the main roads, but you can’t ride them into the CA. Go to your stand per se. unless that has changed recently. I’ve hunted Mo public lands for over 10 yrs now and it hasn’t been allowed

That's not the plan. The few different CAs that I hunt are criss crossed with trails that are open to bikes so you can cover a lot of ground with them before walking. Instead of walking 2 miles to get to my stand I'll be riding 1.5 and walking 0.5. I talked to a warden up there about it last year and he convinced me to get one.

I wish they'd outright ban them but until they do I'm not letting other hunters have that much of an advantage.

I want one too. I saw someone with one 2 weekends on public.

A pedal bike is definitely useful but those things are a game changer.

A lot of people do. The only thing that happens is they access harder to reach areas, more easily than people on foot. 3 people in our group, including myself, use them. Along with a few other people I personally know. It’s not illegal. The laws regarding them can be found online.

I’m with loup though. I wouldn’t be upset if they banned them altogether. I prefer how it used to be, where putting in more work than the next guy meant you could get to spots with less pressure. But until then, I’ll keep getting my moneys worth out of mine.
