Thanks for the update. I'm not in the mkt for a new bow, but I'll shoot it to see how it feels. 4.5 lbs for a 28" ATA seems pretty heavy (my 35" bow weighs the same), and way to short for my comfort zone.

what's the MSRP $1199?

Hard to get them close to 4.00 when the risers are so long and limbs so short.

I read this: $1099 msrp, local shops will probably be $999 as usual

Looks almost identical to a halon 6, minus the two inches shorter ATA. The dampening stuff sounds interesting, wonder if it's marketing or legit.

I like to think that R&D has hundreds of riser configurations and does lots of testing. Or, they just come up with something different to sell more units.

What I was getting at is that it looks like they may have found some room for improvement in the halon 6 after extended testing. They didn't really try to re-invent the wheel, so I'd like to believe they refined it. Then again, they could be hyping some minimal changes to have a 'new for 2018' two year old bow, just in time for xmas. I know this doesn't help your dilemma.

I sold my Halon 32 and put a deposit on the Triax.

I should have never sold my original Halon, but shot the Triax next to Halon and preferred the Triax. I will post once I receive it. Sweet shooting little bow.

People get caught up in speed so much. Do you realize what 10fps means at 20-30 yards?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

I like it! I hunt in some tight spots so a shorter ATA is idle for me. My bow now is 30" ATA and I wish it was shorter sometimes. Rarely take over a 30 yard shot. I'll wait for reviews.

That's the ATA of the original Halon and I believe perfect for what I do. I get in and out of vehicles and on and off ATV's a ton. The 32 was just a big bow to me.

You should shoot the Triax. I went in hoping the regular Halon would be good and ended up with a Triax. My first Halon was a 6 and I shot a 7 next to the Triax.

My new Halon has brought back my desire to shoot. Good grief that thing is fun.

Whatever could you be talking about?

as far as the triax. it looks a lot like my Halon with the addition of the dampening stuff at the bottom. I love my halon and I'm sure this thing would be very similar.

There is a rule I don't know, so I can only give you an unofficial Alx statement. Nice 9 point! (Could be 8 or 10 )

Reminds me a bit of my least favorite deer story. I set up in a new spot on my lease during the rut that I had never hunted. A doe comes loping along and sure enough, the biggest deer I've ever seen alive is on her tail. He stops under 10 yards from me. My peep did not rotate. I had shot numerous times the day before with perfect peep alignment. The only thing I can think of is that the weather change caused something.

Anyhow, I had to look to the side of the peep to take the shot. I saw the arrow penetrate to the fletchings, but somewhat high. I got down and found spray blood on the palmetto. An experienced hand in the club saw the first part of the trail and said, "You got him." I don't really want to tell the rest.
