Fished Delacroix Saturday and caught a few green trout in the same spot we were catching specs. 3 of them were full of worms. Not just one or two, like full. I’ve never seen worms in bass, only specks, reds and drum. Anyone see this before?

They had some other guys cleaning bass out there and they had no worms. Those were caught closer to the launch however.

I caught a few in the burns last year that had them. They weren't full of them like trout but each had 2 or 3 at least. Are these yellow in color compared to the meat?

One of my podnuhs caught a 26 inch bass that weighed less than 4 lbs. When he cleaned it he said there were a bunch of worms in the gut cavity in addition to a belly full of senkos.

In my experience true...if you look close enough. I like sausage, don't care to watch it being made in most cases. Worms are good for you....I was always a little reluctant to eat fish without cooking it first though if they were noticeable....I've done it but I always make it a point not to look to closely when I am cutting up that first snapper of the morning for breakfast....and I figure the Wasabi and the Vodka in the Bloody Mary will take care of any I ain't seen.....never was to concerned with it when making Ceviche though...figured the acid and salt would take care of the buggers....nothing like a Jack marinated in lime, tomatoes, onion and salt and iced down for an hour to chill...

Bass we catch in Venice and Delacroix have them from time to time. Don't know if it is definitely a seasonal thing but we tend to notice them more later summer and early fall. Caught bass all winter in Delacroix and never saw them. We eat them, but the wives turn their noses up if they know...

Catch them in bayou black all the time with worms. Last week all my sacalait were slap full of the white ones you’re probably talking about and some coiled up red ones. Tossed several to the gators.

ETA I believe they come from a shark parasite.
