No, I understand all that. I don't understand it being a peeve.

Just one of those things. LIke some people can't stand someone slurping their soup. Or making that sucking sound with a straw when they run out of coke. I just notice it. No big deal really. My bro in law calls it a clip and he is big time into pistol shooting and was in the guard. He's also a real dork, but that isn't relevant to his gun knowledge. At least I don't think it is.

I use the terms clip and magazine interchangeably. I don't think about it before I say it. It either comes out one way or another.

Believe me I know it's aggravating when people harp on it but it shouldn't bother you when people use the correct terminology.

Right, but the magazine clip thing is different. the gun nuts seems to scan threads to do nothing but make a gigantic deal out of it. I suspect that somehow points are awarded for most times pointed out and they get free ammo.

Done that way because, like I stated earlier, the terms have become interchangable somehow. If someone goes to Brownells to search for "clip" and it's simply listed as a "magazine", they don't find it and go somewhere else. Just an explanation.

S&W M&P Pro series 9mm. Trigger is smooth as butter and the night sights are a plus as well. Best feeling DAO pistol I have ever handled.

I carried a Glock 22 for 11 years and loved it. I now carry a Sig P229 .40, I've carried it for a year and I'm getting accustomed to it. I just don't like decocking it after a course of fire. I have a 4 inch Springfield Champion 1911, I've put one round threw it ( armadillo) and it sits in my safe. The Glock just feels right.

BTW-mag not clip.

it is not 'just one of those things' they are two separate things. One term is correct and the other is unarguably wrong. Don't insist on being ignorant your whole life...

I think the acceptance of the term "clip" is a product of hollywood and video games.
Alx, don't be offended. No one was saying you were less of a gun guy for saying clip. The more you know about the things you're in to, the better off you'll be. Hell i learn something new everyday that someone thinks i should have already known!

You may have already known it and were just insinuating that some of us are opinionated asses (myself). In which case, sorry for that.

Carry on.

1911 as a pure shooter. Glock 17 or 34 for a pure combat gun.
