My riding mower will go full speed at times and will barely go forward at times during cutting process. Anybody here can help me in determining problem!

Mower known as lawn tractor type tells me the transmission.

I’m trying to figure out if it is a
hydro
CVT
Composite CVT common on John Deere and Husqvarna.

When the PTO engaged could be a few things.

If it's belt driven check to see if the belt is slipping

belt stretches as it gets hot and then starts slipping

replace your drive belt before you start trying to fix all sorts of shite that isnt broken.

what the belt "looks like" has nothing to do with how worn down thew wear sides of the groove grip is

Could be trash on the mower deck inhibiting the action of the tensioner.
