Building some beds around my pool. Looking for ideas on what to plant. Beds are about 6 feet from pool and against the house. The kicker is our house is on a raised slab about about a foot off the ground and has a wrap around porch.....struggling on deciding what would look good against that porch.

Just looking for some ideas/healthy conversation. TIA.

Need much more info. What is the style of your house? What kind of look are you wanting? Tropical getaway? Desert Oasis? Secluded lake? These things can heavily influence what to plant. Raise the beds. Put in a mowing strip or use retaining wall blocks.

some types of palms or evergreens that don't have much leaf litter associated with it.
Anything with large leaves so the pool is not littered with thousands of them over winter
or anything you can cut back before its dead so that the leaves don't blow in the pool and it is easy to maintain.
Be aware that during drought times snakes will find your beds next to the pool a suitable living space.

It's a bad idea to put landscaping right next to your house.

Be careful with Lantana it’s toxic to dogs.
