La one between leeville and the isle. Look for deep holes and ledges.

I always wondered..How do you find deep holes besides stopping every 10 yards to check?

The drains that run under HWY 1 usually wash out the bottom a bit.

If you're in St Bernard, you can fish off of Delacroix HWy across from the cut that runs out to lake Lery. Or by the bridge in Reggio

Although this was posted in March, the techniques and spots should be similar

And I always reference Jerry LaBella articles
https://jerrylabella.com/on_road_off_road_angler

quote:

This area is prime “on road” fishing, especially the section of La. Hwy. 1 that lies between the Leeville Bridge and La. Hwy. 3090 (Fourchon Rd.). On days when the weather and tide are right, anglers speckle both sides of the roadside, fishing the canals paralleling it. It’s as simple as pulling your vehicle to the roadside and wetting a line. Hence the term, “on road” fishing, since hardly any walking is involved to catch fish.

There are two hot spots (hotspots) along La. Hwy. 1 that are most often fished, and one of them is located about 2 miles before Hwy. 3090 heading south. This spot, situated on the left-hand side of the highway, is identify by a small boat shed and pier that has a camp in the distance. The other spot, located one mile farther down, is identified by a bed of white sea shells spread out along the roadside. Actually, any area where these white sea shells line the roadside is a good location to park and fish.

I fished various holes about a mile outside of Grand Isle this weekend on La 1 for about 5 hrs and caught 1 redfish and 1 black drum. Using Minnows and Shrimp for bait to no avail.

MY dad is getting up in years and wants to start fishing the road when it is quiet during the week. Rucker has given me some good info but all is appreciated.

It is a older map with hand written notes about where Telephone Pole Hole, Helicopter Pad Hole, Snake Pit and a few others are.
