Beginning in 2011 on private property, you can hunt them at night from the last day of February to the last day of August with a shotgun or .22 rimfire- with artificial light, infared, lasers, or night vision.
Yall sure got some strict restrictions in LA. In TX we can (and are encouraged to) kill them in anyway and at anytime we can with the exception of shooting across or from a roadway.
We routinely spotlight them at night with rifles from our trucks, stab them with knives, catch them in traps, and I have even run them down and over with my diesel.
It is suggested that you notify the local game warrden when you are going to be shooting at night especially during deer season though.

That's LA for ya. Then they turn around and cry because the damn things are taking over.

Yup, 3 years ago my Father in Law in MO who is with the Department of Conservation was agast when I told him we spot lighted them and shot them over bait. He told me it was illegal and totally unethical and would never be tolerated in MO.
When I told him of all of the destruction we were having and the population explosion he shrugged it off and said it couldnt be that bad. I told him he would see the same in MO in the near future and he laughed.
This year the MO annual regulations include a REQUIERMENT to shoot all hogs on site and they are soon to open spot lighting outside of deer season also.
