Kayak Anchor Trolley

Right now I have a few cleats on my kayak in different places to help me position in different winds, but i dont like having to lean all the way to the front or back of the boat to un-tie the cleat. I kinda want an anchor trolley, but I envision myself cussing it the first time a get a treble hook caught in it. Does anyone have a problem with theirs and regret installing it, or should i go for it?

no regerts.
I've had hooks get caught in the pulley itself before and when that happens and you're alone, you can either try to get it out yourself or just cut the line and retie. When you get back to the launch you can retrieve your lure.
If a hook gets caught in the trolley line itself, just pull the trolley until the caught hook is within reach and free it.

Never had a problem with hooks. My anchor trolley was DIY. Stainless ring, 550 cord, pulley, carabiner, and some San Diego jam knots. Just tie it a little loose if you go this route because the cord will draw up a little

No ragrets. Not even one letter.
I have maybe put a hook in it one time. It's really not an issue. But it is a necessity for me to have one even only slightly breezy days.

I have one on each side, I've only got a hook in it a couple times but was able to slide the rope and get it out. It's good enough until I'm OB baller enough for a power pole.

I've been using one for the last year. They are nice to have, but I still carry a SOP with me for the times I want to be facing into the wind.

This is what I did. No regrets either.
