Currently have a 2017 Polaris Ranger 900 XP. It's been solid for the most part but I've been wanting to upgrade to a crew. Found a 2023 Mule Pro-FXT EPS LE that I'm interested in, but not sure how it would compare to my ranger. Mainly used for riding the kids around and easy trail riding at camp. Occasional mud and rough terrain but nothing too crazy. I had a Mule Trans 4010 and I liked it but it was slow and didn't have the power like the ranger.

IMHO, the Rangers are quieter, but the Mules ride much better and last longer.

ETA: you can’t compare the 4010 with the Pros as far as speed. Those 4010s are slow.

Just sold a 2019 XP1000. It was a POS. I was a farm\hunting ride. Never abused. I had to put in the shop 4 times in the last 2 years for electrical issues. The brake pressure switch had to be replaced 2 times (that will leave you in the woods when it goes out). O2 sensor went out and left me in limp mode so bad it wouldn't even trailer. Spent $2500 in repairs the last 2 years. I had a 2015 Ranger that was rock solid.

Bought a Mule Fx Pro EPS last week and couldn't be happier.,

I had a 4010 and loved it. Have a PRO-FXT now and it's very smooth. Much nicer vehicle.

That being said, it's got electrical gremlins and is in the shop a second time in 6 months. First they said the battery, now they say the alternator. We will see.

Overall, they don't seem to have issues. I don't think my experience is typical.

ETA - I have not been in a Ranger that was quieter than my mule.

My dad midsized Ranger has been pretty dependable and rides good. I've had a Mule Pro midsized for almost a year now. It rides better than the Ranger, and I have been really enjoying it.

Went and looked at the pro-fxt this afternoon. It looks like an awesome machine, but I just can't justify the price tag....

Damn, glad I didn't buy it when I had the opportunity

Everything was working fine when I sold it. Just had it serviced to the tune of $900. The brake pressure switch is a known issue by Polaris in all their 1000 models. Don’t know why they don’t fix the damn thing. The guy that works on my stuff says he changes 3-4 a month.
