Tensas does produce some of the best deer in the state. It doesnt have to be the best in the sate I just want some place where I can grow some good quality deer. The problem with LA is every redneck and coonass is dropping everything that walks. Ideal would be finding something within 2 hours of Laff. Easy weekend hunts and days during the week when I dont have class

St Francisville, Woodville MS, Natchez MS, Deerpark, Monterey, Blackhawk area, Mansfield, Nachotiches. Even just north of Thistlewaite is very good and all those areas should be in your price range.

find a few hundred acres and split it with a buddy. plant the crap out of it and feed protein in late winter/early spring. in 3 years you'll be good to go.

Get in your truck and go ride. Find an area with some good woods and go knock on doors. You would be amazed at how many really good small tracts are out there.

The area around Avoyelles is starting to pump out some great deer.

I held the prettiest 180 rack I ever laid my eyes on, net score will not be that great, but it was absolutely a monster. I got big ol mitts and could not reach around either base.

My nextdoor neighbor owns City Bar. If you go in there, ask for Matthew and tell him you're looking for his neighbor. he can point you to the house, you're welcome anytime.

yeah, but not mine. he was taken on a ranch East of us a few miles. We haven't seen anything like that yet but I've seen 2 this year that I would say are 170-180 10 pts.

We have a ton of 2.5 to 3.5 yr old deer in the 130-150 range. If we get some rain this summer, next year is going to be incredible.

Would you be interesting in trading some very good duck and goose hunts for a deer hunt. what are you calling a cull deer? Im fine with shooting a 130+ class deer.
