Didn’t see anything this morning. Made a quick trip to the store midday then jumped back in the woods. Wind out the east/southeast, got cutover straight east of me. It’s thick to the north and south but I could manage a shot if I have to. It’s been a rough week, hopefully that changes this evening.

Simsboro, La. 60° and calm
Was gonna wait and just drive to our spot in Caddo in the morning but reading the IST made me leave work and drive up to get an hour and a half in the stand and camp in the woods.
.270 on a skinny pipeline.

Eta: had a little kitty cat at my stand not long before we got here.

Saw a Yearling Spike and two Mommas with last year’s yungguns in tow. Had to watch my cell camera lighting up from the next stand down where the big 6 pt cull I want to take fed for over 30 minutes.

Hunting the back of the property, saw a ton of tracks when I went to replace the batteries in one of my cell cameras. Shame on me for trying Amazon brand LiOHc they crapped out in a couple of weeks, my most active camera shot pics from February until September on Energizers

I had some energizers in a camera that worked for months. They finally started running low and I was in dollar general one day and saw some more. They were so cheap I just bought them. They proceeded to last 2 weeks

I’ll be buying energizer again next time

I’ve carried that thing for years but never really used it until today.

First deer I ever called in. I’m a believer now.

We had a guy shoot a 135lb doe on our place.

He said he had a buck after a doe on camera. It’s definitely close in Amite county. Heading back up Monday morning.
