Good luck to y’all. I drove to my camp in amity,ar to put my feeder out. It’s a damn monsoon, I’ve been on the front porch of camp drinking beer.

Guess I’ll wait til it quits before I hop on the atv.

Hunts till noon and saw 6 deer. Climbed down went and moved a camera and drove to Vivian for the afternoon hunt.

It’s in the low 60’s here drizzling rain.
Box stand on a high line looking over a pathetic excuse for a food plot and a feeder.

Killed a buck at 9:30 this morning. Saw a doe about 8:00 and then a spike hot on her trail 15 minutes later. He followed her exact path. This was in South Rapides Parish just west of Calcasieu river. Heard 8 other shots this morning prior to 9:30.

It was a beautiful morning in St Helena Parish. One of my sons shot a 6 point about 9:20AM. 30 yards and the savage 308/150 grain corelokt blew most of the heart out the other side. He piled up in the thicket 10 yards away. He was quartered and in bags/on ice not long afterwards. Nice tenderloin on the charcoal pit for lunch. The plan was to get my other son his first deer this afternoon since his older brother got one this morning. We were going back to the same stand for more action. Plenty of deer and hogs. Something surely would have came out.

While hanging the camp this afternoon one of my cams sent pics from my other hunting land in tangipahoa Parish, of some joker taking down one of my feeders this morning. Maybe he noticed the cam taking his picture and stopped. So we had to drive over, rig up the feeder (already busted up from hogs knocking it over late summer in st helena) and fill it again, put up no tresspassing signs and chain/lock the gate.

So we're in N tangipahoa Parish catching the sunset and trying our luck here now.

Rain has passed. All my seeds got a good rainfall today and hopefully will have nice greenery in a months time.

Good luck everyone.

Area 4
Summit climber
Bow tech and rage
Wind blowing like a whore on bourbon street
Just got in from offshore so I don’t care I’m at the camp and the food and drink and solitude are enough for a good wknd.
Hoping either the 8 I have pics of or the 180 pound six point show themselves.

And as luck has it, we've seen nothing here.

Meanwhile in st helena

Man I hate that for your youngster. Make you want to beat the crap out of that guy messing with your feeder. Did you get a good picture of him?

Thanks and yeah I got a few that are halfway decent. I stopped on the way out of town to speak with local authorities at the request of my landowner. We will see what develops with the trespasser next week.

We had a great day today. Last year was a complete strikeout for us (with many many hunts logged) so to hit the woods for the first time this season and have a deer on the ground before 10AM was a massive victory.

And my youngest, it was the first time he'd seen it all happen and I wasn't sure how he was going to take it. So for him to say he wanted to really hunt (instead of spectate) was huge. We have plenty of time to hunt these other bucks and plenty of tags to fill. I'm optimistic and proud. Great day today.

ETA and my three "food plots" got some rain today too.
