Fordoche LA
31*
No wind
Remington 300
Box stand with old hardwoods on my left. Cutover on my right

I've hunted this stand all year. This is the best morning of the year and maybe one of my last days too hunt. I brought my lunch so it's on today

Edit: cold fingers submitted before I was ready. Also we got a new moon. It was really dark coming in. Cold weather, no moon, and the rut. if there was ever a day...

SW Amite Co Ms
Ladder stand between pine plantation in hardwood bottom
Rem 700 .280 Core Loct 150g
34 degrees

Yesterday morning a small 8 came in and busted me as soon as he cleared a shooting lane
Yesterday evening I caught a glimpse of another buck that started blowing up wind and hauled arse

This morning, I hope it don't happen again. I'm running out of time to get the one I'm after

Good luck everybody

Just shot a pretty good size boar. Honestly not sure how good he is hit. Had to shoot left handed and he was walking straight away but I thought I heard him crash

That's wanting it bad. Why are you sitting on a log if you've got a climber?

Hope your work pays off.

I'd like to hunt somewhere like that. I paddled a 3/4 mi to and from yesterday evening myself. Canals are holding backwater right now, couldn't believe no one else was hunting yesterday and I saw a bunch of deer, too. good luck.

Talked to you some the other day on here, killed a cull 6point with a nice 4 on one side and messed up forks on the other.
Just to get the genes out of the place, also shot him left handed after he smelt me.
Hope you got the boar.

Stupid question: what does "IST" stand for? I understand the purpose of the thread based on the responses, just don't know that abbreviation.

I said I was gonna hunt all day ... Couldn't do it. Got pissed at about 9am after a doe gave me up. Only 2 small bucks real early in the morning. Back on the stand now. Sitting on a stand that's only been hunted a couple times this year. Contemplating walking to the stand we always hunt. Currently sitting on a box stand with hardwoods to my back and left, fresh cutover out front and to the right.
