Can I borrow your DE when you get it to slay something? That 10mm is one bad bitch. A pig with a 10mm right in the face would make my day.

As for the rest you tell me one thing the glock can do that the M&P can't.

There's something we can agree on. I hate it too.

I still own one, only because I'm required by the DOD to know how to use it.

Pretty much the only time I handled one was when I was in the guard and I never did like the feel of it too much.

I've never had a platform stovepipe on me more than the 92. Hell, it even did when I was qualifying last time.

Some love it, some hate it. Mine has been bulletproof reliable with both the 9mm and 40 uppers. No complaints here.

Thanks for the history lesson. Here's yours, those guns were not built with the same tight tolerances that modern 1911s are. The old Colts were very reliable but terrible on accuracy (multiple members in my family have agreed with this, ones who used them in Korea and Vietnam). Modern day 1911s have great accuracy and still a good reliability record but nothing compared to a modern pistol.

Class dismissed.

Edited because apparently I cannot spell "class".

Dam, I like the 50 round drums on that link for the 9mm. Anyone here have one?

It is you that needs the history lesson. You should research the 1911 and its use by US forces a bit more. The large majority of 1911's have served since WWII. That's right, decades, in harsh conditions and fired countless times in training and combat. As any machine, the pistol will degrade over time thus explaining your lose tolerances that you family saw in Korea and Vietnam, and even today with those US gov prop pistols. Armorers have been keeping them alive since before either of us were born.

Our country's most super secret squirrels still use the 1911. Look what Devgru and the like use today. Look at the MEUSOC, those pistols are antiques yet they are being replaced with another 1911.

eta: I believe there are 1911's still serving with 500,000 rounds through them. Although the only original part may be the receiver(frame). Most of those pistols have been rebuilt hundreds of times since the 40's. That plastic receiver just won't cut that.
