I’ve caught 2 small fish. Carolina rig and plum finesse worm. It doesn’t seem like they are in prespawn pattern yet

The lake seemed dead. Caught between fronts. Next week will be on fire. I caught one huge lit up male perch.

Bruh, 6 hours of fishing and no bites. We fished shallow hay grass, lumber and deep points. We threw spinnerbait, crankbait, deep crankbait, Texas rig, rattletrap, Carolina rig, senko, wacky, weightless trick worm. I saw a few baitfish flicker but never saw a fish hit the top. We were around a lot of boats all day and never saw a fish caught. Very pretty lake, but miserably tough.

Something was very wrong. When even the pickerel don't feed, it's the conditions.

Indian Creek is a miserably tough lake with very few fish. Don’t buy into the hype. Go to Toledo, Caney, hell anywhere but Indian Creek or Kincaid!

Don’t LDWLF have a fish hatchery in the area?

I been when the lake is fish on and off.

I been when you go past dam to the left in the stump rows and seen hogs spawning on top of stumps.
A few times all you could catch is those pesky jackfish. They just bite to annoy me.

Yes, Toledo Bend is easier to fish. The lake does have fish it is a lake that will test you.

No one said it was easy to catch fish. That’s why they call it Fishing and not catching

Go to Toledo

Agree. But I can make it from my driveway to the state park launch in 17 minutes which is much easier than the 1:20 drive to Toledo.

I'm probably going to miss all of the spawn. I was on my way back to the launch and my motor started knocking. Not to mention my breaker on went out. Joys of owning a boat.

Forgot to mention. Looks like we are going to have salvinia issues this summer.

I saw salvinia floating everywhere I went. Some mats already forming along a few banks.

On the bright side, Neck's recommendation of the nail weighted trick worm is legit. Only two bites I got.

When it's tough, that's the only way to go.

Saw lots of boats from down south. Spinnerbaits errywhere

We used to kill them this time of year on a 6" finesse worm, weightless. If it was cloudy we would throw watermelon red, if its sunny throw watermelon seed. Haven't fished that place in a long, long time.

I have seen times when they would hit a jerk bait and not the worm, as well as the other way around. Throw those two off and on until a pattern emerges.
