I shoot an index finger release. Have my entire life. Never shot with a thumb release. They look cool and all, but at the end of the day does it all just come down to preference? Should I stick with my index finger or is it worth the investment to go to a thumb release? I don't shoot competitions. Only hunt.

World champion archers have shot every type release imaginable. You’ve got to get the release that you’re most comfortable with and that offers you a consistent anchor point. I always hot some sort of combination of back tension or thumb triggers. I always felt I found my anchor better with a handheld.

This. It’s all about what you’re comfortable with.

I switched to a Stan thumb release and love it.

I've tried everything. Finger is the best for me.
