Oh yeah, it would have to be fresh Alaskan, my neighbor brought me some last year that was flash frozen, I can't eat grocery store salmon anymore.
Yeah, I like the silvers right off the boat. Kings are pretty good too. I am getting a smoker this weekend as spring king salmon season is here.

Bass...I never give those away.
Fried or baked Flounder is a close second.
Then Trout, Redfish, White Perch

Best damn fish there is. It's in a class by itself.
Damn right! Feel sorry for all the boys on here who haven't had it. My brother used to work on a boat in Alaska. Used to get huge fillets for free all the time.

Yeah, I can get halibut cheap off the boats here downtown. I still have some left over from last summer. As far as fish goes, never have tasted anything that is as good.

One fish? shite, i don't know, I like all of em for what they are. If I had to choose just one, I'm going with Buffalo. The ribs of the buffalo to be exact.
Yeah, they pretty much suck, but they bring back good memories, so I'm going with that.
If we're going with the best, to me, it's gotta be bass.

Never tasted anything as good either. Need to go on a deep sea trip and get me some. No where near as big here though.
After halibut it's sturgeon, ling cod, flounder, sea bass, specks. All white meat fish. Salmon is after all those.

Large white perch fryed whole.
Op cat or small blue/channel cat
Fresh halibut is hard to beat also.
I know you asked for one, that is a tough decision.

Should be a sub category of fish. Love salmon, but to compare it to bass, white perch, bass or anything of the like is crazy. Completely different meat. Like I said, you must take all for what they are. A better discussion would be how you liked each fish prepared.

I bet most on here would put gar way down on the scale, but cooked right, you would be hard pressed to find better.

Agreed.....not comparing cause you can't. I do enjoy them though.
White meat fish.....fried although I never eat it fried anymore. Grilled or baked now but fried is better
Salmon.....grilled on cedar plank.

Probably my second choice. My wife is loyal in her southern roots, and still prefers catfish. Halibut is making some gains though, she will be converted in due time.

Ugly looking but very tasty.
Eta...snake river is full of cats. Could be a cool camping trip not far from your brothers. If she fishes....assume she does

Unlimited supply,
Grilled Swordfish steaks.
Hands down it is the best tasting piece of meat I have ever put in my mouth. I sounded like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally eating that damn thing. The wife actually kicked me under the table and asked if I was ok.
Catch and eat, Sac - a -lait!
Assuming I still get to catch and throw back other species.

Man, just got a nice piece of macadamia encrusted halibut with a cream sauce. It was the best fish I have ever had.
