Guys, I'm going to have some remodel work done on my house and I need to rent a camp 3-4 weeks in late June or sometime in July. My preference would be Grand Isle, Hopedale, Venice, Delacroix or Henderson. The kicker is I have two pets so wherever we end up it need to be pet friendly. If anyone has a camp that they are not going to be able to use during this time please let me know.

Actually, I live on Tickfaw River so I'm accustomed to having access, I just want to experience something different while I'm getting the house fixed up.

Nah, I'm actually a white collar redneck that wears jeans and polo to work. I left the Budweiser and Marlboro's alone a long time ago.

It's actually Blood River, about a mile before it goes into Tickfaw. I just normally say Tickfaw because no one seems to know where Blood River is.

I have one near the Rigolets that might work for you. What is your number and I will call you to discuss.

The Rigolets is hit and miss. I have had some really good days over there and some really frustrating days. I'll keep your post in mind.

Not sure what's going on here...but I also smell a rat.

You say anywhere from Henderson to Venice?
Yeah, that's not a remodel

Grand isle camp for 4 weeks during peak times might run you 5k. And it might be hard to find one thats available for 4 weeks straight. most or booked ahead of time for certain weeks, weekends.

The hardest part is finding one for a straight month that will take pets.

The sac-a-lait fishing is usually really good in Henderson during these months if the water is not too high. Hell, even if the water is high you can still go to the pits and put together a good stringer. BTW, I'm not concerned with what you think my reasoning is in regards to renting a camp.

It was a tongue in cheek joke at first, you know, you rent something because your home is being remodeled...usually you rent in the same area code (lol) as your home.

Hes gonna rent a camp somewhere. Most would be looking close as possible to home, if the reason is being forced by renovations. The end

Been working in Harlingen, TX for two years, I will be off the whole time so proximity to work doesn't matter, proximity to decent fishing does. Kid will be out of school so that doesn't matter either. I'm currently 45 minutes from Arroyo City and while there is fishing there, throwing plastic all day for 5 trout (on a good day) gets tiring. Ever time we go fishing here the lil one reminds me that he could catch more fish at home in the back yard than we can here. I reluctantly agree but it is true. The frogging in Henderson is another bonus. Grand Isle keeps the wife off of my arse as she is not a fan of Hopedale. She is originally from the Lafayette area so If I end up in Henderson she can go see her people while I fish. All locations are within a few hours from the house so I can make sure the contractor is actually doing what he's getting paid to do. Of course, this could be difficult for some to comprehend.
