Goose Island 312 sucks. If you want a wheat ale, just go with Canebrake. It's average as well, but at least it is local.

Or go with southern tier hop sun or new Belgium sunshine wheat

If you like hops try timber beast or mechahopzilla, both are local and pretty good beers.

+1 on the parish farmhouse also.

Support your local beermakers, get you some Nola Hopitoulas or Parish beers like Canebrake or Envie.

Agreed. I love it. They serve em at Astros games and I've been hooked ever since. You can find them at some gas stations and in most Albertsons

Shiner Black Lager is my go to in the outdoors these days. At the bar, Fat Tire on tap.

Widmer Brother's and Tap Room 21 both make pretty good wheat beers.

Was created by AB to compete with Shiner Bock.
Southern Star, Karbach and St Arnold are some good Hou area brewers making good beer.
Speaking of Shiner, the first time I had it was around '92 at a wedding reception in the hill country, on tap. It was pretty damn good, much different than what it is now.
