Having a fawn along is not a reason to pass on a doe. In fact, if it's a buck fawn, killing mama increases the chance that the little buck stays near.

They sometimes hang around. It's not like they go lay down by her or anything. You're still a booger, and they are scared of you.

Personal Preference - no real correct answer. For me it depends on situation - I have done both, shot and let walk. Regarding chances for survival, by this time, if no spots and if they are browsing on own then I believe it is OK to shoot if you want.
