To the OP, welcome to the club. There is nothing like the 1911. I strongly suggest you get some Hornady Critical Duty ammo in 45. It is the best 45 hollow point in my opinion and it was tested with the Ruger SR1911.

Thanks, picked up a box of Hornady 200 gr XTP. It's what they had in stock.
