I'm not as familiar with the buffalo as I am the white, but if it's in that same general area then it will be a great trip. I would definitely take a light spinning rod and some panther martins or rapala countdowns, you will catch a ton of rainbows and you could cook them over your campfire. Just talking about it you're making me want to take a trip up there. It's definitely some beautiful country and I've had some great times on the white and spring rivers..

Most of the guys in our group won't be experienced climbers, lookin for something a little easier
Easier than using your hands and feet to climb a rock full of holds? Rolling down a hill might be easier, but climbing is pretty much an innate ability.
You don't need ropes, it just makes things a bit more fun.
(pretty much any able bodied adult can climb this stuff no ropes - though there are much harder climbs out there.)
The place is dreamy, and probably ten times more safe than canoeing down a river. But, whatever.

He just might not be interested in climbing a rock? I don't think he's making his decision based on what activity would be safest. Personally I will never get into climbing. I don't see the appeal, but hey I won't knock it. I'm sure you may not like everything I do.

MOST people shouldn't climb. That's the draw to it. Most people would absolutely spaz out and do something outrageous, but same thing on a river. I've been to Sandrock countless times and I think it's an amazing place to go camp and hike. That's why I posted.

I appreciate the advice, knowing that it wouldn't be tough climbing definitely adds to the appeal.
