What kind of regulations do high fences follow in terms of size, sex, and number of deer killed per year? It seem like they would go by their own regulations or do they just follow standard state laws?

Pretty sure they have to follow state seasons and laws unless you can prove that every deer in that fence was bought/raised. Can't just fence in a shite load of woods, throw a few breeder bucks in there and hunt whenever you want.

You also have to turn in your man card upon arrival.

They are bound by most state laws as it pertains to native species. In Mississippi if you are hunting whitetail deer you are bound by White tail deer laws. Exotics are a different rule set. And to hear people say enforcement doesn't worry about people hunting fences is a very false statement. Agents check regularly...mainly looking for any diseases in the fence that could spread if a deer was to escape!

If you wanted to bring 50 people and kill every deer off your property you could do that but you cant import deer from out of state and struggle to do it in state.... so you may struggle rebuilding a herd. In Mississippi with special licenses You can buy sperm from out of state and breed artificially with you native does, but be prepared for constant attention from local Wildlife enforcement checking for disease etc..

Wild white-tailed deer cannot be enclosed in a high fence in Louisiana, per state law. Harvesting of farm-raised deer is restricted to one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset between Oct 1 and Jan 31. Outside of these dates, one can provide written notification to LDWF within 48 hours of a proposed harvest.

State laws for the most part. There are programs you can enroll in (MLD Program in Texas) that relaxes bag limits and season dates though.

Deer farms are regulated by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry in Louisiana. Look up the regulations for "Alternative Livestock".
