No pics.
It grew in my crawfish pond about 7 years ago, but the farmer as since killed it and planted.

Planning on crawfishing and not planting anymore.

This shrub grew really large and was purple at times and green at times.

Snakes and bullfrogs often laid on top of it.

It grew in patches, some as big as 10 feet around.

That's all I got, but I want to replant it for the crawfish.

Will google

No ..this grew lower to the ground and rounder in circumference.

And it stays in water 9 months out of the year.

You must return here with a shrubbery or else you will never pass through this wood alive!

It must look nice and not be too expensive.

All I got is:

Buttonbush

Swamp privet

There aren't many other bushes that can grow in water down here. Where are you?

Buttonbush has these big red balls that are shaped like one of those stringy Koosh(?) balls. Swamp privet gets blue/purple fruit, but they are small

If you got some more info, it would be very helpful. Some other stuff can grow in water, just not as well

I'm out of post-its or I would do an artist rendition of what I think it looks like.

Water chestnuts?? Or some kind of lily??

I don't know of this practice being effective outside the Basin. I'm not saying it can't work either, just sincerely making that comment as a matter of fact type statement.

Got to go to bed ...getting up at 4 to fish tomorrow..

I will do more research in the next few days.

And yes .I think the leaves may have turned purple at one time, but again it was so long ago and didn't think it was important then.
