Yep. You could get 1400 rounds of 7.62x39 for under $150. SKS for $129 (sometimes $99). Mak 90's for $225.00. Those were the days.

Things weren't great during the AWB.

The Internet changed gunshows, probably forever.

I started going to gunshows just a bit before Klinton was elected. It took him a couple years to get his Kommie legislation passed.

Up until then, gunshows had some smoking deals.

I remember $3.50 barely used M-16 magazines. M-14 mags were $7.50, still in the wrap, and we thought that was expensive.

Norinco .223 in the yellow box was $2.50 per 20 round box, and about $2.00 per box if you bought a case.

I bought my first SP-1 for $675 back then and thought that was a premium price. My cousin had bought one back in the 80's for $375, NIB.

If I had known then what I know now, I would have bought tons of .223 and .308 surplus.

I guess the gun show here in lower Alabama, Baldwin County, is a little different from the ones over there in Louisiana. I found it to be quite a nice event. Had a good selection of vendors and products. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting based off of the commcents in this thread. the pricing all seemed in line with a typical LGS and a few deals here and there. Didn't find the handgun I am looking for but was able to handle a few of my "wants".

Ran across a belt fed AR style 22lr that was pretty cool will post picture later.

Overall I'd give the Robertsdale, AL gun show a B+

The gun shows in VA are decent. Ammo is a little over priced but they usually have a lot of reloading supplies. The last show I went to had over 300+ tables set up with different local vendors. There was one vendor who sold only antique colt revolvers and 1911s--he must have had 30-40 old colts.

There's a vendor who comes to the Lafayette show who has quite a collection of handguns. Some autos but a good bit of revolvers.

Last time I saw him he had a couple Anacondas that were in great condition, but man, $1600 and $1800 for a handgun is kinda steep for me.

My eyes were opened to the fact that if all the people are are this well armed then I have some catching up to do. I apologize for using the term assault weapons as well. With all the assault life stickers and t shirts being sold I assumed it was only right. I meant no offense to anyone who likes Dreamcatchers or throwing stars as well.

My nephew is all ape shite over throwing stars right now.
