Hard to buy LC9 over Glock 26 when glock 26 holds twice the amount of rounds.
Its all about concealabilty. The Ruger has a single stack mag which is thinner, hence more concealable than the Glock.
I carry a Glock 23. My wife would have a tough time concealing that gun due to its width and her small frame. The Kel-Tec (which is close to the same size as that Ruger) fits her perfectly.

True true... I really like the LCP for her but I'd prefer for her to have at least a 9mm.. maybe even a .40

Hammerless .38 revolver.
Wont snag on a purse or pocket as they draw, no slide to worry about, no worries about jamming. Just aim at target and pull trigger until it goes boom. And the .38 is a good round with minimum kick.
Trying to find another one for the right price now.

no slide to worry about

I've got a Taurus hammerless .38 special in black if you're interested. Under 500 rounds put through it.

Got mine one of those S & W 38's, called the airweight or featherweight or something. She got comfortable with it pretty quick.

I sold alot of those Airweight S&W's when I worked at Academy. The only bad thing I ever heard back was that the recoil is substantial in that compact/light frame. However, I would still recommend the gun. Especially the the hammerless for a woman. I think they even come with pink grips.
I bought my wife the Bersa .380 to carry in her car. I really bought it for myself but told her it was for her. She has trouble getting the slide pulled back so I keep it in the night stand now. I tried to get her to carry it with one in the pipe but she didnt like that idea.

Not in the lighter titanium frames, “airweights” and small “ladies” revolvers

This.....
I just went through a somewhat painful 2 months trying to find the right gun for my girlfriend.
The first thing I did, was take her to a gun show so that she could pick up and hold as many guns as possible at one place. I wanted to find a gun that “fit” her and one that she was comfortable with. She wanted an external safety and is left handed so we looked for something that also had an ambidextrous safety and magazine release.
That led us to the Walther PK380. I’ll keep our experience with the Walther short and just say it was a nightmare. The gun was the perfect fit for her and she loved it, but problem was it didn’t like to eject spent brass. After a few emails with the manufacturer and some Google searches, I knew I was best off dumping the gun at a loss and starting over.
Next I went and got her the Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .38+p. Awesome gun, no hammer, very light, concealable and no worries of jams, miss feeds etc.. Only problem is SHE LOVES TO SHOOT. I’ve created a monster; she’ll shoot 200 rounds every trip to the range if I let her. I’m not complaining, but with the Bodyguard after 50 rounds or so it becomes painful for her to shoot. The light weight and short barrel give a pretty good snap, and that’s 38’s not the .38+p. With a glove it helped some, and she didn’t complain, but I could tell she wasn’t comfortable.
So next I went and got a Ruger SP101 .357 magnum with the 3” barrel in stainless steel. The .357 will shoot .38’s and with the added weight and barrel length it’s very comfortable to shoot. She loves it! and can shoot round after round with no issues. She can shoot the Ruger with .38's all day at the range and load it with .357 magnums for the night stand. Then carry the Smith and Wesson in her purse or car knowing that even though lighter and smaller the mechanics and operation are the same, double action revolver.

Also, the thing about it is that if/when you actually need it you'll never feel the recoil. I dont remember feeling any recoil when shooting deer. Even with the 7mag the bucks like a sumbitch when sighting it in.

No Trev Alberts. He was a talking head on game day back in 2003 when I signed up. ESPN fired him a while back. He was pretty anti LSU back then.
