Gun for home defense questions

By all means, you do need to have a complete home defense plan. As far as home defense guns, I'd suggest:
Shotguns: 12 gauge pump w/ 2 3/4" 00 buckshot for whoever can handle it well.
20 gauge pump for whoever can't handle the 12 gauge.
Women seem to handle youth model shotguns better than they do full size versions. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a good HD shotgun. It doesn't have to have a bunch of black plastic parts in order to be effective. Buy the most reliable and effective gun you can.
Pistols: 4-6" barrel full size, non-lightweight revolver in 357 Mag or 38 Special, depending on which she handles best. If she can handle a semiauto, then a semiauto would be acceptable. If you go the route of a semiauto, get a full size in 9 mm, 40 S&W, 357 Sig, or 45 ACP, whichever she handles best. I don't recommend subcompacts for HD.
More info if you're interested.

Sigmas are shite, dude. If you're getting this for home defense just invest a little mire and get a .357 revolver.
Also, Remington 870 /thread

I'm pretty sure that's gonna be my purchase for the shotgun but I wanna have a pistol as well.

Don't get the sigma. Honestly, you'd probably be better off with a slingshot then that thing.

He said go with a Glock if I want to get the .40
