They are coming back.

10% of trip cost is pretty standard, but please remember that if a guide is busting his arse for you to make sure you have a good trip then recognize that with your tip.

I'm going with Captain Jack out of Sweetwater in a few weeks. The trip is $750, was planning on giving him $800 even. Is that enough? I feel like that's kind of low-balling him now that I read this thread.

I would say “it depends on services rendered”, # of fishermen on boat & how hard he works for you. $50 for three is $16 each and a bit cheap IF you were taken care of. Flip it and ask yourself what you would expect as a tip for a great day on the water and that’s your answer.
Now, I NEVER Expect a great tip and work like my life depends on those 8 hours.

What is the recommended tip if the guide owns the land and the company that is providing the hunt. I am going on a deer hunt in South Texas, and the guy that will guide me is the owner of the ranch. Should I tip him on top of the cost of the hunt?

Does he charge ala cart? Never done a guided deer hunt but i would ask the guy up front if you are unsure. He won't have a problem with the question.
