Who has the best offshore fishing and why? Factors to be included:

- abundance of fish
- variety of species
- length of boat ride
- any others you want to consider

at first glance it is like how are you comparing these.

Then i read,
quote:

There is a reason Venice is the Fishing capital of the world. but there isnt much else there to do.

Grand Isle / Venice forsure. The proximity to great fishing is unbeatable. Sure, GI and Venice may not be as aesthetically pleasing as others but the fishing is in a league of its own.

Better fishing on all levels for La gulf coast.

Better everything else for OB/GS/Destin.

Assuming that we are talking about fishing offshore??

1-Venice.

2-GI. Fishing out of GI, you often fish the same areas that you would out of Venice, but with twice the boat ride.

3-everywhere else.

I am talking about fishing only....not including "social activities" at all. But if you want to find trouble, you can find it anywhere you want.

Yes, this is strictly limited to offshore fishing. Not talking about social activities.

So would you say the offshore fishing is all equal when comparing Biloxi to Orange Beach to Destin?

Venice is the best all around offshore fishing in the world. You can find better fishing for specific species in other places of the world during certain times of the year, but overall, it is Venice #1.

Someone mentioned earlier, saying hi to ERIC and mo. If that is who you are fishing with, you will have a blast. They know what they are doing.

ETA: different thread made mention of Eric and mo. Sorry.

This is like comparing a Ferrari to a 1992 Honda Civic... You can’t beat the Grand Isle/Venice combo it’s in a class of its own

This, I used to trailer to Venice but now just run from Biloxi, spend a bit more on gas but have a much more enjoyable day.

Except you lose out on the west side of the river (think Green canyon).

Unless:
A) you have a 600 mile range or
B) you stop for fuel in venice

How much further is the run from Biloxi than from Venice? Based on looking at a map, seems like it would be quite a bit further.

Unless you are going on a crazy boat ride out of Biloxi to fish Mississippi Canyon, they are all equally average. Out of those three, I'd probably fish Destin to fish the Dome area.

Its like an additional 100 miles from Biloxi
