I don’t think they are allowing the camper covers any longer

Based on the amount of damage and people reluctant to rebuild, i wouldn't be surprised to see it reversed it’ll they are banned. It’s getting to point where it’s not worth it to rebuild with the cost of insurance and strength of storms we are seeing every year.

this is why we didn’t rebuild our family camp after Katrina relocated ours into the bay. Their additional restrictions, insurance cost etc made not worth it. They begin allowing this I’d be all over it in a heartbeat though.

The east side did amazingly well. But the west side for the first few miles is about as bad as it gets. I'd say 90% of camps have extensive damage in that end. At least 3-4ft layer of sand. you can't see the road or the ditches and you can see the beach. As you get about halfway the road clears. I our camp is where the speed limit turns back to 25mph. Almost looks like a different place than the west side. Still a mess but our camp inside is good. Talked to a local worker and he told us they were bathing in out pool.

leeville is gone.shrimp boats on land and I seen a supply boat a boat 1/2 mile in the marsh

Amazingly well compared, it’s still a wreck down there.
Pretty amazing the amount of damage on the west end though, like you said.
We gutted the whole upstairs yesterday, no telling when we will be able to have a real roof or someone to come put the sheet rock etc. inside

I know it’s unknown, but what do y’all think will happen with Leeville? I find it hard to believe that many people there will want to rebuild. I know Gails and Tyds aren’t rebuilding. So sad to see, and I can’t even imagine being someone who grew up there, made their entire living there, and having absolutely nothing to go back to. Fishing won’t be the same for a while, but it’s even more sad how peoples lives are forever changed by this.

I think Bobby Lynn’s is one of the 3 or 4 buildings that are left standing there. Not sure what their plans are.

I’m sorry, it’s actually Griffins that I think is one of the few buildings left standing. Not sure of Bobby Lynn’s status

Remember when the town of Grand Isle posted police to stop non residents from coming to the island during the pandemic?

Maybe they should fix things themselves.
