Heading down this weekend and all the grand isle FB groups are dead. Any good reports on trout?

Fished the surf the last couple days. Haven’t seen anyone catch shite. Been a struggle

Crabs are thick everywhere, shrimp are plentiful on the inside. I'd hit as many places inside as I could, don't get stuck at one place long at all until I found fish.

I've always found August and September to be tough fishing down there. Once fronts start arriving and weather changes, the trout start coming back in and stuff picks up.

Free line pogey or croaker on the jetties or Caminada rocks. Caught about 20 on the jetties last week, all studs.

Caught about 15 around Elmers today and one fat flounder. Struck out in the surf again. The surf whipped us good this week not much was caught out there

Ran all around on the inside today with not much. Not much chance to fish the beach with those rollers coming in

We tried the beach before we rolled out this morning. Were out there about 5 minutes before we got the hell out of there. It was freakin rough
