Sorry, just saw this.

Haven't ever sold them. I guess around $50 would be about right.

Just got my new Olt D2 "keyhole" in the mail and I think it is the same material and of the same old as the older style calls. This is gonna be good.

This. I have a few that are 15+ years old. Time to retire them. They are starting to sound like shite.

This thread is solid gold. I've blown a cut down D-2 all my life. I'm still blowing the same call a friend of ours cut down for me when I was 7.....I'm now 40. I have to wrap thin plastic around the throat or it won't stick in the barrel. I've probably cut down over a thousand of those damn things for other people. Nothing like the smell of burning rubber and black dust on your hands and clothes.
I cut some of them down with Omar Driskell. My dad was in the same lease with him for a few years. Quite a character!
To the OP who mentioned Wham Brake and Black Bayou....I came along after the Black Bayou days, but I had a blind at Wham for 15 years. I was responsible for some of those poor greenheads that committed to the sounds of a D-2.
The other day, I found 2 old style D-2's still in the box that haven't been cut on yet. My 15yr old, who is damn good on a call, is begging me to cut one of em down for him. His birthday is in a couple of weeks and that is gonna be one of his gifts.
Enjoyed reading all of these posts!
