Who you got? Got a couple spots to fix from a previous owner of said boat. I’m in ascension parish but willing to travel for the best.

I used Dears a couple years ago. Work was good but went way over the estimated timetable. I was also unaware that Bubba Dear had a certain reputation about his colorful personality or attitude. I was not happy at all with his customer service and behavior. Just my experience.

For my boat the work started and was prolonged for a couple months past the estimated time of completion. No communication from his end so I call occasionally to check on the progress. I never called more than once in a weeks time. I was never rude in any way, just trying to see what was going on and they would never give me an updated estimate on the completion of the work. He didn’t like that and got on the phone with me and was attempting to chastise me in an extremely rude manner. It didn’t go well. The rest of his staff who I believe are family members were always polite with their interactions.

Was talking with a coworker later about the matter and he told me how he had a very poor interaction with Bubba insulting his wife. He hadn’t dropped his boat yet so that caused him to use someone else.

Again the work was fine but I can’t recommend him based on the lack of communication, missed deadlines, and manner in which he spoke to me.

Lyle Jordan in Lafayette. The Fiberglass Boatman.

He redid an old bass boat for me. The thing looks absolutely showroom. He has a small shop, but I was very happy with his work and the Customer Service.
