I have some thinner North Face gloves that are great to ~40. Looking for some that go colder.

I wear fingerless wool gloves down to about 20F pretty comfortably while duck hunting and fishing. They're great because you maintain dexterity in the fingers but the palms stay nice and toasty. They might slip over the thinner gloves you have too if you wanted to double up. If you want the thumb free, just cut off the tip.

Just make sure they're at least 85% wool and not mostly poly, etc...

They also make some straight fingerless gloves that don't have the pop top. I've worn these for years:

Glomitts

Mittens convert to fingerless gloves - they work in a bass boat up to 50 mph in 35 degree weather.

Just got a pair that a duck hunter recommended to me. They're made by Hot Shot. Forgot the exact model. Going to try them out Tuesday morning.

wool military issue shooters mittens. they're designed to go inside of a larger, thicker shooters glove if temps require it, or they can be worn alone, which is what i do.

i get them for a couple bucks a piece at the army navy store and bought several pair to give to hunting buddies for a small christmas "happy." all except 1 of those guys are converts and to this day wear these exact ones in the link below.

warmth: absolutely. wool is the undisputed king of outdoor wear. even when they're soaking wet your hands are warm.

manipulate a zipper: absolutely

answer a phone: yep

as a matter of fact i'm about to put mine on and go get on an open cab tractor to clear a downed tree that's in my road. there is nothing better that i've found for the coldest of wet cold temps in the southeast as far as warmth and functionality go. the price tag is just a bonus, as i'd pay whatever they asked for them since i know what they'll do.

amazon- no idea if these are genuine like the ones i buy

I bought some Nomad harvester gloves last year when I went to Missouri. It ended up getting down to 3 degrees and they worked well. They’re about $40 and have the flip over mitten like the ones posted above.

enter: touch screen gloves men

on the rei.com

Believe it was 45 hits; they have one or two special finger tips instead of missing part of the glove; mine work pretty good.
