I agree completely. I have never relied on a safety in my life.
However, I do prefer to have one on a semi automatic pistol.

The M&P can't hold a Glock's jock strap.
M&P is still sitting on the junior varsity team.

How about this...
I'm watching some cop shootout show on tv a few weeks ago. They showed 10 or 11 shootout vids. 3 of them ended because the cop's glock jammed.

I'd like a little more factual basis than that.
Link? How do you know it was a Glock?

I don't have a link or anything. It was on TruTv, so it had to be true right???
I really don't have anything other than I remember watching the show and 3 of the clips involved glocks jamming. You'll have to either believe me or not believe me

I know they are great weapons. I'm just stirrin the pot a lil bit. I think there's a common misconception out there that glocks absolutely cannot fail under any circumstance.

No problem with em as long as you're not trying to compare it to a Glock. It's just not in the same ball park as far as reliablity and being a proven gun.

Glock buried for two years
Frozen Glock
I could do this all day. They are downright FAMOUS for reliability.
We all know every car manufacturer makes a lemon on occasion. If someone has a Glock that does not fire regularly it needs service. Mine has never needed that.

I've shot thousands of rounds through mine. Likely every time I'm at the range there are at least 10 others on the line. Only malfunctions I've seen have been operator error (limp wrist)
Posted on 6/25/12 at 9:24 pm to SenseiBuddy
There is someone who posts here who absolutely cannot get his glock to work...
Sure they handle abuse like you posted very well. They seem to start having issues when you put them in a close range self defense scenario though. Glocks seem to be known to have a very low tolerance for limp wristing. Of course that is operator error, but I want LOTS of room for error when I'm trying to shoot somebody off me.

Not buying this. Where do you get this from?

The limp wrist thing goes away after 500 rnds or so. I couldn't stop mine from cycling now if I tried.
I think I'll try next time just to see.
