I recently bought a used boat. Got it at such a good price I couldn't pass it up. Anybody know where I could get a floor installed on top of the ribs of an aluminum boat?

He did some minor repairs for me on a fiberglass boat. Top notch guy. Was referred to him by a friend and have heard nothing but positive things about him.

why dont you do it yourself? not that hard, and not expensive.

Guess I could. Just didn't want to screw it up or have it looked jerry rigged. Like the idea of knowing it's done right. May have to do some research, gather ideas, and see if I feel comfortable doing it myself.

It's easy. I redid the floor in my 16' aluminum boat.

Where did you get the aluminum from? I'm gonna have to make some cuts around the side console and there isn't a floor already there so I have nothing to go by.

Yeah I'm not putting wood in my boat.

Make a pattern with cardboard, cut marine grade plywood to shape, spraypaint it green, then paint it with fiberglass epoxy with some grip grit mixed in and screw it down. Coated in epoxy it will last a long time. If it gets soft, unscrew it and replace it. It's easy. If you don't want to use wood, use coosa board, although it is more expensive and harder to work with. The procedure is the same.

I have put wood floors in fiberglass bass rigs. do you think your feet are gonna know the difference? just my opinion, but its the easiest fix for what you want....a floor in an aluminum boat.

It was originally plywood and I replaced it with the same.

Cut out some marine-grade plywood and do it yourself.
